Ripple Adds Vitesse & Interbank to RippleNet
The ever-growing list of companies and banks signed up to Ripple grows almost daily with two new banks Interbank and Vitesse joining RippleNet.
Ripple recently updated their website platform, and when it came back online two new partners had appeared so we looked into it.
Vitesse PSP UK
Vitesse is an electronic money institution with its main focus on international bank payments.
They also offer local collections, payouts and peer to peer payments platform for businesses.
After streamlining their peer to peer platform which now runs on RippleNet they help customers to manage such payments quickly and cheaply.
Vitesse PSP Ltd is authorized by the UK FCA for placing cash to a payment account, withdrawing cash from a payment account, execution of payment transactions on a payment account not covered by a credit line, execution of payment transactions on a payment account using a credit line, issuing payment instruments or acquiring payment transactions, money remittance.

In 2011 Worldpay bought Envoy services and by 2013 Vitesse was conceived to cater for the two under-served banking areas mentioned above.

Interbank Peru
Interbank has a long history beginning in 1897, it was called Banco International and until 1994 it was explicitly owned by the Peruvian government.
The bank offers many services from business, agricultural, oil & gas development loans as well as international payments and regular banking services.
In 2004, Interbank bought the supermarket chain Supermercados Santa Isabel from the transnational Ahold, and they founded Supermercados Peruanos. They have offices inside Vivanda and Plaza Vea stores. Currently, Interbank has 230 branches or stores, over 1,500 ATMs, and over 1,500 Interbank Agentes in Peru.

Interbank is part of the GlobalNet banking network which allows cards from all over the world to use their ATM’s, part of the global banking system.
Although these banks will initially use the xCurrent network like most Ripple linked banks, they will convert to xRapid once confidence has grown.
